1. Booking and Acceptance

These Booking Terms and Conditions apply to all clients booking motorcycle rider training with Compass Motorcycle Excellence ("Compass", "we", "us" or "our").

Training places may be booked online through our Eventbrite booking page:

By completing a booking and purchasing a training place, the client confirms that they have read, understood and agree to these Booking Terms and Conditions and any other relevant policies published on the Compass Motorcycle Excellence website.

A booking is confirmed once payment has been successfully received and the client has received booking confirmation.

2. Client Eligibility and Documentation

Before commencing training, the client must provide the instructor with:

• A valid driving licence appropriate for the motorcycle being ridden and the training being undertaken.

• A current certificate or other acceptable evidence of motorcycle insurance.

• The vehicle registration number of the motorcycle being used for training.

The instructor may request to see original documents or suitable electronic evidence.

The client must ensure that their motorcycle is legally permitted to be used on public roads, is roadworthy and has the appropriate legal documentation and insurance. UK law requires riders to have the appropriate licence and minimum third-party insurance, and vehicles must meet applicable registration, taxation, MOT and roadworthiness requirements.

If the required documentation cannot be provided, or the instructor reasonably considers that the client or motorcycle does not meet the requirements for safe and lawful training, training may be refused or postponed.

3. Training Dates and Times

The training date, start time, duration and meeting arrangements will be those stated in the client's booking confirmation or otherwise agreed with Compass.

Clients are responsible for arriving at the agreed meeting location in sufficient time to complete any necessary documentation and preparation before training begins.

Late arrival may reduce the amount of training available and does not automatically entitle the client to an extension or refund.

4. Cancellations by the Client

Clients may cancel their booking free of charge up to 7 days before the scheduled course start date.

Cancellation requests should be made through Eventbrite where that facility is available, or by contacting Compass Motorcycle Excellence directly.

Where a cancellation is made at least 7 days before the course start date, the client will be entitled to a full refund of the course fee, subject to any applicable Eventbrite arrangements or charges that cannot be recovered.

Cancellations made less than 7 days before the course start date are normally non-refundable.

Compass may, at its discretion, consider exceptional circumstances or offer an alternative training date, but this is not guaranteed.

5. Failure to Attend

A client who fails to attend their booked training without providing sufficient notice will normally forfeit their booking fee.

This includes failure to attend because of personal circumstances, travel difficulties or other reasons where the client has not cancelled within the permitted cancellation period.

Where illness or an infectious condition is suspected, clients are encouraged to contact Compass as soon as possible. Relevant provisions are contained within the Compass Motorcycle Excellence Infection and Illness Control Policy.

6. Changes or Cancellation by Compass

Compass Motorcycle Excellence reserves the right to change, postpone or cancel training where necessary, including because of adverse weather, instructor availability, operational circumstances, road conditions or other circumstances affecting the safe delivery of training.

Where Compass cancels a course and does not offer a suitable alternative date, clients will be offered a refund in accordance with applicable law and Eventbrite requirements. Eventbrite's policies require refunds where an event is cancelled or certain other specified circumstances apply.

Where reasonably practicable, Compass will contact affected clients as soon as possible and offer an alternative training date.

7. Weather and Road Conditions

Motorcycle training is dependent upon suitable weather, road and traffic conditions.

The instructor may postpone, shorten, modify or terminate a training session where conditions are considered unsuitable or unsafe.

The safety of the client, instructor and other road users will take priority over completing the planned training programme.

8. Client Responsibility

Clients must comply with all applicable road traffic laws and must ride within their own capabilities.

Clients must provide a motorcycle that is suitable, roadworthy, legally compliant and appropriately insured for the training being undertaken.

The client must immediately inform the instructor of any matter that may affect their ability to ride safely.

9. Refunds

Refunds will normally be processed through the original booking/payment method and in accordance with the applicable Eventbrite procedures.

Eventbrite states that eligible refunds are generally returned to the buyer's original payment method.

Where a course is cancelled by Compass, the refund arrangements will comply with applicable Eventbrite requirements and relevant UK consumer law.

10. Agreement to Other Compass Policies

These Booking Terms and Conditions should be read together with the other policies published by Compass Motorcycle Excellence, including its:

• Training Code of Conduct

• Client and Instructor Liability Policy

• Health and Safety Policy

• Infection and Illness Control Policy

• Equality Policy

• Disability and Reasonable Adjustments Policy

• Privacy and Data Protection Policies

• Customer Complaint and Refund Policy

Where applicable, these policies form part of the arrangements governing the provision of motorcycle rider training.

11. Changes to These Terms

Compass Motorcycle Excellence reserves the right to amend these Booking Terms and Conditions from time to time.

The terms applicable to a client's booking will be those published and applicable at the time the booking is made, subject to any changes required by law or by the booking platform.

12. Governing Law

These Booking Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales.

Any dispute will be dealt with in accordance with applicable UK consumer protection legislation and the jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales, where applicable.
